Orbitreeum: MotionArt at the Arboretum
Orbitreeum : MotionArt at the MN Landscape Arboretum
A magical, musical, mad-cap dance with 12 distinctively dynamic dancers in a magnificent outdoor setting at High Point.
SAT, AUG 16 2014 11:00am & 12:00pm
SUN, AUG 17, 2014 1:00pm & 2:00pm
Orbitreeum is a site-specific dance in the round. It is a work specially created for High Point, a picturesque circular setting ringed by 12 trees surrounding a circular stone wall. The wall in turn embraces the sculpture Blütenmotiv by Rudolf Belling. We are interested in integrating dance with this place and reflecting the natural environment at High Point through the lens of human movement possibilities. This piece has evolved into an exploration of nature’s beauty, human quirkiness and rhythmic comedy.
Co-directors: Pam Gleason and Diane Moncrieff
